The Trouble With Travel

Here is a little confession for you. I do everything either: late, or at the very last second!

Tonight is the eve of the eve of going away for a week, and I haven't worked out some vital little things just yet. Like, what suitcase am I going to use? How much stuff do I REALLY have? Probably more than I realise! I will bet you five dollars right now that I will pack around midnight tomorrow night or my real name isn't Natalie Lastminute H.

I can still feel the insane rush of the moments before leaving for the airport for Italy, stuffing more into my suitcase. Surprisingly, I never forget anything, and I take great pleasure in this when I bring up how I don't need my mother's constant reminding. "No, it's because you're German," she says, "until things are visibly wrong, we pretend everything is going to plan."

(I'm never drinking fountain water ever again)
